Minecraft's iOS and Android versions are developed using C++ I think, because the two can't handle Java games. They run really smoothly and it would make quite a bit of sense to make a switch. Considering Notch has said in the past he prefers C++ coding too.

I don't see him taking the time to switch though anytime soon.

Android can't run java? It nearly breathes java.

I dunno, I just know that they had to hire a guy to transfer the Java coding into C++

Either way, Java is complete shit and they should switch to something more stable.

Yeah they should, it's like so easy to rewrite a game from scratch in another language, I do it all the time.

Android can handle Java games. In fact, Android is built on top of Java, and all android apps are either written in Java, or using a Java wrapper for C++ or whatever other language you're using.

That would explain why the mac version runs so much smoother if it does run on C++.

So much misinformation. The Mac, Linux, and Windows versions run on Java.

Couldn't help but think how much more content would come in each patch if Jeb patched certain mods into Minecraft. Of course they would have to be good quality and not too radical, The Aether Mod, More Pistons, Armor Stand and other stuff would be good choices for example.

That's all Notch and Jeb did, though. Rip off mods. Most of the stuff in Minecraft isn't even their work, other than the basic game itself.

I thought they said they were starting a program to add to the game certain mods.  Guess they didn't follow through with it very well.

I meant they shouldn't waste time coding their own shoddy version into a game, when they could literally just legitimately ask for the mod coding itself. I'm sure Mod creators would be happy to have their content in the actual game, especially if it got their name in the credits or something.

It's been proven that they already jack code from modders without asking.
